Application of Vat Dyes

VAT dyes are insoluble in water and generally applied to cellulosic fiber. Before applying it to cotton/rayon fiber, it needs to be reduced to leuco form in sodium hydrosulfite alkaline solution. In the process, air oxidation firmly fixes vat dyes strongly on fiber that result in superior light and wash-fastness.
